The third posting on Saturday, 19th of May

Last week an instructor told me that he has seen Bicester water logged only once during the past 30 years! The airfield is well drained.

Today I heard that one of the our young lady glider pilots landed some time ago on a farmer's field and the farmer was not impressed and pushed the lady pilot against the hedge. She reported him for an assault. He got slapped on a wrist. Anyway, her grand mother, a NFU representative phoned the farmer directly and told him that the girl he had pushed against the hedge is her grand daughter.

Last week one of our young lady glider pilots landed on a farmer's field and the farmer wanted her to pay the same amount of money one would expect a balloon with full load to pay for landing. There were no damage. The farmer was holding the glider on a field for 2 hrs.

The one and only out landing I have ever done was to land the K8 in a farmer's field and the lady farmer could not have been more helpful. Her daughter and farm hand gave us so much help.
