AIR LEAGUE DAY AT BICESTER!

What a day!!! It didn´t start great, it was 9am when I woke in a caravan. I am sleeping there 2 nights, after that back to the bunk house! So I rushed to make a breakfast at the member´s kitchen, on the way there through the hanger I saw that all the gliders had disappeared from the hanger! When I finally got to the launch point, there were full action there. The place was full of people, and most of all, young people. The aerotow point was a bit further from us. Two tugs there towing gliders to the air.

I wasn´t sure whether I will be able to get instructing but no problem. I flew with a very good instructor yet another K13 and Igot lot of feedback. We managed to do 3 launches and one of them turned out a real power failure, so had to release and do a circuit. We were back on the launch point in three minutes. The instructor was great, I am so much more confident now. Today I got the feel for the winch. So, launch failures next. I am looking forward progressing to solo and then it will be getting to know the area. Soon I will have a 4000 feet aerotow with the CFI. Great!!! Absolutely a great day, for me as well as for the club. There were well over 200 winch launches and aerotows today!

The Hercules was flying the whole day. Took off from Prize Norton and dropped 6 parachutists at a time at Weston-on-a-Green. Hercules did 5 rounds and went back to get a new load. "Ladies, look it is raining men" laughed Charlie at the launch point!
