What a great day today turned out to be!!! I went to the hanger at 9am and got the K13 CCZ out and to the launch point on the other side of the airfield. I flew with Alan and then 2 launches on my own and then he told me to get the K8 out and to the launch point. I need lot of extra weight in it, first we put the 14kg metal weight between the stick and the seat on the floor and the 26lb under the cushion, no wonder men tells me to drink more beer!!! And I needed 4 different cushions as well.
The winch launches could not have been better! And the landings just fine. The only little bollocking I got because I landed so short!
So, I had 2 flights in the K8, I did not want to fly more because there were no lift. Perhaps on Saturday!
After the flights, I was telling everyone how wonderful the K8 is!!! I have to say, that I have never ever flown a K8 as good as that one!!! This is just a dream, first of all, it has got a trim which works! The trims at K8:s normally don´t work!!! And the seat belts are new and very good. The controls don´t have any slack at all. It is just like a new glider. The K8 I have flown over the years, have been anything like this!!! The field manager was laughing when I was just over the moon! I kept telling everyone how wonderful flying machine this K8 is! It really is! I am so looking forward flying it again tomorrow and hopefully will get a proper soaring flight!!!
